So, what is TGTagger?
▄▄▄▄▄▄▄▄▄▄▄▄▄▄▄▄▄▄▄▄▄
TGTagger is a file tagger for Telegard v3.00 - It was built
as an external door which should be installed on the BBS for a simpler
file-tagging session than the one there is already in Telegard. This
door is to be installed by every sysop using Telegard and wishing an
easy tagging-time for his/her users.
How does it work?
▄▄▄▄▄▄▄▄▄▄▄▄▄▄▄▄▄
After being installed as an external door the TGTagger replaces
the built in file listing command so whenever a user wants to perform a
file-listing he / she will load TGTagger instead and will be able to
browse more freely in the file's database. Its idea is simply modifying
some of Telegard's files concerning the download batch queue. Because
this is all handled automatically you should not be worried about which
files are being modified.
Installation Procedure
▄▄▄▄▄▄▄▄▄▄▄▄▄▄▄▄▄▄▄▄▄▄
A. Create a directory for TGTagger and put all of its files there.
B. Create a batch file that Telegard should run while shelling to
the external door. The batch should look like this:
CD\[TGTagger directroy here]
TGTAGGER.EXE [Path to CONFIG.TG] [Path to DOOR.SYS] [User #]
So lets say you installed TGTagger on 'C:\TG\TAG' and that
your Telegard is located in 'C:\TG'. If you run a single-node
system you would write:
CD\TG\TAG
TGTAG100 C:\TG C:\TG\TEMP %1
And if using a multinode system:
CD\TG\TAG
TGTAG100 C:\TG C:\TG\TEMP%1 %2
You reason for the difference in the % varibles between
single and multinode is made because there's only one
'\TEMP' directory for a single-node Telegard system and as
many '\TEMP1' and '\TEMP2' etc. directories as the number of
nodes on a multinode system.
C. Modify your file menu. From Telegard's Waiting For Call
screen press T and then #. Choose M and enter the name of
your file menu (Usually FILE). Choose M again to modify the
file-listing command. If you are using a single node system
and the batch file called 'TAG.Bat' is located in
'C:\TG\TAG' the new command should look like that:
Menu FILE.MNU - Editing command #1 (of 15)
1. Long (F)ile Listing and Tagging
2. Short (F)ileList
3. Keys F
4. Command DG - Shell w/ DOOR.SYS (GAP)
5. Options "C:\TG\TAG\Tag.Bat ~UN"
6. Access ""
7. Display ACS Dependant
Edit menu (?=help) :
In a multinode system, however, this should be the correct command:
Menu FILE.MNU - Editing command #1 (of 15)
1. Long (F)ile Listing and Tagging
2. Short (F)ileList
3. Keys F
4. Command DG - Shell w/ DOOR.SYS (GAP)
5. Options "C:\TG\TAG\Tag.Bat ~CN ~UN"
6. Access ""
7. Display ACS Dependant
Edit menu (?=help) :
D. If you use ANSI menus than edit the file menu ANSI with your
most loved ANSI editor and let the users know that the
command for filetagging now exists. You have finished the
installation of TgTagger! Note that if you had any troubles
you may find use in the included sample files. I now hope
you'll enjoy my work and decide to contribute to it.
Registration, does it bite?
▄▄▄▄▄▄▄▄▄▄▄▄▄▄▄▄▄▄▄▄▄▄▄▄▄▄▄
I think just counting the advantages of a registered version of
the program makes the whole registration proccess much more
desireable.
* You support this program and help in future releases
of it. Future releases will have more features, more
bugfixes ( if found... gee, hope not ) and more fun.
Most important, you'll also be registered to the
future versions.
* The limit of maximum 10 files in download queue will
stop! No limits at all in the registered version!
* No more delay at the begining of the program with
nagging messages.
* Your name will be credited for registring TgTagger.
Now if you're convienced just take a look at TGTAGGER.REG -
all the information is in there.
NOTE: By using an illegal pseudo-registered copy of the
program you are exposing your BBS to unpleasent
things. If you do not wish to register after the
30 day trial period you should stop using the
program!
